Smoothie Bowl Recipe
Today’s recipe is the perfect quick breakfast meal. You can make this smoothie bowl the night before and quickly gobble it in the morning before work or school; or if you have 5 minutes you can assemble it in the morning and eat it right away.
This smoothie bowl is loaded with yummy fruit, grains, seeds and nuts as well as protein powder and your choice of milk.
This breakfast smoothie bowl recipe is a complete meal and one of the healthiest things you can eat for breakfast!
- 1/2 cup of oatmeal
- 1 cup of skim milk or non dairy milk alternative
- 1scoop of protein powder
- 1 tsp of chia seeds
- 1 tbs of sliced almonds
- 1/2 cup of blackberries
- 4 medium strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 banana, sliced
- 1 cup of spinach
Oatmeal is a healthy carb that will give you energy all morning long. Fruit contains antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Spinach is a great source of iron. Milk contain calcium and the almonds and chia seeds are a great source of heart healthy fats.
Blend the oats, milk, protein powder and spinach until fully mixed.
Pour into a bowl and stir the chia seeds in. Don’t blend the chia seeds because they need to remain whole in order for you to receive the maximum health benefits. Place sliced fruit on top. Garnish with sliced almonds.
Serve right away or refrigerate and eat the next morning (Banana might turn a little bit brown if it is in the fridge over night)
